New blogging platform to go for!!

by samrat

With millions & billions of blogs, out there in the web, it would be sad if you don’t have one. Ok I get you, you are not a geek and don’t how to design or add custom CSS etc.. So, their is also a hope for you, with people using popular blogging platform like Blogger, Wordpress & Typepad, it is time to change and try something new.

For people who are new to the blogging world, here is the list of the some of the newest and cool blogging platform to look for:

1) Tumblr: Tumblr lets you effortlessly share anything. Post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos, from your browser, phone, desktop, email, or wherever you happen to be. You can customize everything, from colors, to your theme’s HTML.

Tumblr

It is a awesome blogging platform and it is one of my favorite, even my personal blog is powered by Tumblr. It also has an iPhone App, so you can even post from your iPhone. This is a must for a newbie and also an expert. One thing I forgot to say, India is one of the top 10 Tumblr users in the world, it ranks 9 with 97,218people using it, as of now.

2) posterous: Posterous is the dead simple way to put anything online using email.Ya, that’s it. It is the most simplest blogging platform, I have ever seen in my life. With it’s it launch in 2008, it is simply growing. This blogging platform is made by Sachin Agarwal & Garry Tan.

Posterous - The place to post everything. Just email us. Dead simple blog by email.

Previously I was using this platform, but due to some issues, I transferred to Tumblr, but the issues are fixed now. This is really a good one.

2) Squarespace: Squarespace is almost completely WYSIWYG(What you see is what you get), in it’s design, interface, and structure. You can drag and drop anything things from the sidebar to the in line menu. You can change your design with just a few clicks. You can even add posts or pages without navigating through a huge administration panel. Best of all, you don’t have to mess with the code at all. One more thing Squarespace will soon be launching an iPhone App, let’s hope it is free.

The only downside is the price, the basic package starts at $8/month and goes upto $50/month, which is simply not affordable for all, only serious bloggers can look here. Otherwise this is a awesome platform and I think it is better for them to make basic package free.

Atlast

I would recommend others to go for tumblr, as it has many themes and you can even customize the CSS and you can follow others as like twitter and also earn points for Reblog etc..

But if you want a simple platform, where you just need to mail them and no geeky stuffs, then I would recommend you to go for Posterous.

Or, if you are a serious blogger and have money, then go for Squarespace.
