iTweetReply: A Addon for your Twitter Client

by Samrat Mazumdar

I see, you might be thinking it is just another Twitter App with Push Notification, Ya you may be correct but not
completely. With release of OS 3.0 these godly features like Push Notifications have been alive for past few months, and with time many Apps has started supporting push notifications. And the most obvious is to have a Twitter App that supports Push Notifications for Mentions and DM?s.

Operation:

Syncode first started a service called iTweetReply for email, where you basically receive a mail as soon as you get a mention in Twitter. I use that service till now, it is pretty good, I think now, they are not taking any more Sign up and are now concentrating on their iPhone App iTweetReply.

iTweetReply is a simple, easy to use notification solution of new replies and direct messages on Twitter. The catch here is that, it cost’s only $0.99, it is a steal, no subscription fees, just buy it and it?s ready to serve. Initially when I first installed the App, the Push Notification’s didn?t worked for some reason, but after rebooting my iPhone, it worked perfectly.

Good & Bad News:

The App is not a full blown Twitter App, it has just three tabs @Replies, Messages, Time line. The good feature is that, when you click on Reply button in the notification, it can open Tweetie, Twitterrific, TwitterFon, Twinkle, Twittelator. You can Push Replies, DMs & even Time line. The very unique feature is that, if you have more than one Mentions/DMs, it will inform you by giving more than one notification. It Auto refreshes every three minutes and you can even set different sound to your notification. Another drawback of this App that, it only supports a single Twitter Handle, that’s quite disappointing. But I don’t mind, as the price you pay for it, is completely worth.

Here is a chart, which can help you to decide, what are you looking for:

Asides:

After using this App, I am quite satisfied and I think you can use iTweetReply as an Addon to your favorite Twitter client, is what recommended, or else you can always use Apps like BirdFeed. It completely depends upon your taste.
