Does Apple hates Opera ?

by samrat

Ya, you heard it right, it may be true or it is true, no one knows. But due to some evidence, it really feels like Apple hates opera.

I am listing few evidences below:

1) Rejection of Opera App for iPhone: We are completly not sure about this point, as some source say that Apple has rejected it, some say, Opera has never submitted an Opera Mini App for iPhone to Apple. But according to Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner, co-founder and CEO of Opera had told New York Times in an interview that:

“Opera’s engineers have developed a version of Opera Mini that can run on an Apple iPhone, but Apple won’t let the company release it because it competes with Apple’s own Safari browser.”

2) MobileMe doesn’t opens in Opera Browser: When you try to open MobileMe website on Opera, it simply doesn’t opens as, it says, it is not a supported browser.

3) Opera cannot redirect to iTunes: When you try to open any iPhone App link in Opera, it will return with a error, whereas if you use other browsers, iTunes will pop up and the App will be loaded on iTunes App Store, but this doesn’t happens on Opera.

These are the few evidences that I have found. It is still not clear that Apple hates Opera or vice versa. Now, it completely depends upon Apple, how to respond with Opera and really make people understand the process of approval of Apps on App Store.
